Positive: The unit upstairs (3 bedroom/2 bath) is clean and bright. The living and dining areas have the open concept, so it is a good space to hang out. The unit has a pottery Barn feel-like interior and vibe, very nice cool relaxing color scheme. Location is about a 9 minute walk to Arlington plaza on the other end of State St. Easy to get hold of the property manager by text or phone call. Negative: Street Parking is a hit or miss. Some days you might get lucky to park in the street close to the unit building. Some floorings are not of same level. Have to be extra careful not to miss a step in the kitchen and in the main bedroom.

Layout is a bit interesting but worked out regardless. All areas were incredibly clean, HVAC and all amenities worked great. Patio is a big plus for two of the rooms, and location right off State Dr. makes it super walkable to shops. Street parking wasn't a problem for us. Property managers are incredibly responsive and helpful!

Our stay was perfect! The is large and thoughtfully laid out, so the primary suite is private. The beds and furniture were very comfy, and the decor was beautiful. They’ve thought of everything- spare blankets in the closets, coffee machine that takes pods and also conventionally brews, great smelling soaps and toiletries, any kitchen items you’d need including kids dish ware/utensils and a cutting board that doubles nicely as a charcuterie board. It rained when we stayed, or the 2 balconies would have been awesome! Almost forgot to mention it was pristinely cleaned- A++, and the checkout process was so simple. Great location just a couple of blocks NW of all the action on State St- check out Cajé for delish breakfast and unique coffee options a few blocks SE on State. Can't say enough great things about this rental!

This is a good place to stay if you have a large family. The building is pretty from the outside but very clearly just a rental in that they only have the very very basics and the quality of the furnishings and linens are fine. There are basic kitchen tools but zero cooking amenities (oil, salt etc). When we couldn’t find amenities listed (such as laundry detergent) the host was responsive and provided it within a few hours. Overall, exactly what our family of 5 needed for a week long stay provided we eat out most of the time.

We had a very comfortable 2-night stay in unit 8. I travelled with 3 of my girl friends for a quiet weekend getaway and this place was our top choice because it had 4 beds, was close to State street and had everything else we were looking for. The unit is well-taken care of, bedding clean and comfortable, black out shades in all the bedrooms, kitchen with large fridge and coffee maker, comfortable couch for lounging and easy street parking. The bedrooms are spaced out which was great so the early risers don't wake the night owls or vice versa. We were able to get parking directly in front of the building 2 of the 3 times we tried and the third time we parked on the next block down. The only cons of this unit was that it is not as friendly for anyone with mobility issues or prone to tripping because of the flight of stairs up to the unit and multiple step down/ups within the unit but other than that we loved our stay and would definitely recommend it.

Next time we are in Santa Barbara we will definitely stay here. The place is stocked with everything we needed. When we ran out of tissues i texted and within a few minutes got a reply with directions to find more. I stayed in the room past the kitchen, fantastic mattress and the east facing wall of windows treated me to glorious sunrises (there are blinds for non morning people). We spent every morning with coffee (provided) on the lovely deck off the kitchen, what a treat! If you walk one block on state street towards downtown you will find a great family run grocery store with a good deli and wine selection. This place is great!

We loved this place for our girls wine weekend. Walkable to so many things on State Street, sunset views from the balcony, and beautiful inside and out. We also loved the balcony off the kitchen for sunny morning coffee. The stairs up to the front door are challenging with luggage but everyone managed just fine. Thank you!

Nice unit on 2nd floor. Tastefully decorated and lots of space. Very clean, except for the front steps that had lots of cobwebs everywhere and needed a cleaning. Hauling our heavy suitcases up the stairs was an effort. :) The only little issues were the coffee maker was not easy to use (I don't drink coffee but my two friends fussed about this) and the pillows were too thick and difficult to sleep on. Great patio space and windows. Overall, would stay again.

No frills apartment that was clean and comfortable for our entire group. Tons of natural light and has everything you’d need for a nice weekend in SB. Only downside was the garage was too difficult to manuveur our car into because of the angle of the alleyway, but there’s plenty of street parking so it’s not a big deal.

We utilized the property as a home base for our family while visiting extended family in the area, and Casa Valerio was a great fit for our young family of six. Despite our best efforts to keep all of our kids having quiet feet, being on the second floor was probably loud for the people below. If you have young children who aren't accustomed to that, it is something to keep in mind with this property.

We really liked this little place. The kitchen isn’t stocked with more then salt/pepper, but there are a few pans and pots. There’s a coffee maker, but no toaster. The little electric fire seems to be the primary form of heat, and though it takes a bit it keeps the main room very toasty. Even with two adults, an infant, and two septuagenarians we could still walk to State street and a market!

The living room was spacious and the couch was comfortable. The highlights of this unit was the balconies! From the pictures, we only thought it was one balcony, but there is actually 2 seperate balconies. We were there for our wedding, and the balcony was the perfect place for pictures and our first look.

There is a small garage for compact cars and great spaces for eating or just chilling outside. Very quiet and safe neighborhood also. The hosts provide clear and accurate instructions and great local recommendations. Will definitely stay here again.

Great unit with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and plenty of space. Nicely decorated and very clean. It's location is very convenient to all the shopping and restaurants on State Street. The parking space in the garage is definitely compact car only but there was plenty of on-street parking so that was not a problem. The neighborhood (houses and neighbors) are quiet and low-key however, having had the bedroom in the front of the house, I found the street noise to be quite loud throughout the night. The first day must have been garbage pick-up day so we heard a big truck beeping as it backed up off the side street carrying a dumpster and slamming it back down and then another across the street. This went on for at least 30 minutes just after 9am. The garbage trucks were barely off the street and a moving truck backed up in front of the house. People were moving in next door. The movers blasted music from a festive Latino station and hollered back & forth as they emptied the truck.

We rented out the entire building for our small wedding of 12 people, and it worked perfectly. We hosted breakfast and dinner in the upstairs suite. There was plenty of room for the hair and makeup artist, and all of our guest for meals. Highly recommend, great price compared to hotels in the area. Clean, responsive, and great location.

Nice place. You can hear downstairs as they open/close doors due to the modern construction, as I’m sure they can hear you also, but it’s all doable with a bit of respect and aforethought when moving around. The location is useful for State St amenities and the apartment was well cleaned and kitted out. Not cheap but fair value for a nice stay.

Highlights of our stay: - Wonderful location, easy to walk to shopping, restaurants, grocery marts, etc - Beautifully decorated and extremely clean - Super responsive and helpful hosts - Beds and bedding were very comfortable - Fully stocked coffee bar - Outdoor areas were lovely (multiple cute tables and fountain) Only drawbacks: - We had a really hard time with the locks (codes didn’t work and you needed two hands to use the digital locks while also needing your phone to access the 8 digit code) but the staff was helpful and able to get us an actual key immediately. - This is mentioned in the listing but it is a busy area so be prepared to have outside noise (it did not bother me but I can see how it would to those who are light sleepers) and the parking garage is very small as noted but super easy to find street parking.

Great place!
We loved this rental, which seemed like it had been recently renovated in lovely neutral tones. Beds were super comfy and the rental provided lots of thoughtful amenities such as coffee pods and flavored syrups, shampoo and conditioner and body wash, etc. Loved having breakfast on one of the 3 small terraces equipped with tables and chairs. The hosts were very easy to communicate with and responsive to our questions. The location can't be beat, walk to everything on State Street. Enjoy! Note that this unit is up a flight of outdoor steps and there are steps inside as well so it would not be good for anyone with mobility issues. Also the garage is really only suitable for a very small car (too tight for our small SUV) but it was no problem parking on the street.

Spacious, comfortable apartment in a 5-star location
The apartment was clean and very comfortable, with all furnishings practically new and in excellent condition. The place is very spacious and airy. The kitchen is convenient for preparation of quick meals, but lacks the counter space for larger-scale cooking projects. With that said, I'd advise renters at this location to take advantage of local dining, which is excellent and very close. The proximity to downtown Santa Barbara and walkability to dining and entertainment is what really makes this rental stand out. Be advised: the entry is at the top of a narrow flight of outdoor stairs which might be a little challenging to navigate with strollers or walkers. Also, sound travels in this building, so it may not be the best choice if you are traveling with young kids or prefer a more private experience. Management was courteous and very responsive by e-mail. Overall, enjoyed the stay and would definitely consider coming back.

Great location, about 10 minute walk to downtown Santa Barbara with lots of restaurants and shops. The place is very spacious for 5 probably even 6 people. The outdoor fountain was really nice to listen to with the windows open! The parking on the street is convenient - the reserved garage spot is extremely small - unable to park a regular size 4-door car.

Not my favorite. I have stayed at many airbnbs so I have a lot to compare this to. I always feel a bit strange leaving a review on a place that i did not love as i know we all have different preferences and tastes. So I will keep this as factual as possible. The apartment is in an amazing location for walking downtown and to the parks. ITs also new and has great trees out side the windows. Thats about all i liked about this place. Its good location means it's all extremely noisy and there was a doc next-door that barked most of the day and night. The master bedroom where the king size bed is located is a super weird shape and has to opening windows with screens. Plus it faces the loudest part of the intersection. So you either have to have the air-conditioning on (which doesn't work that well cause of the weird high ceilings and weak airflow) or have the French doors open to noice and mosquitos. My husband and I opted to sleep in the little back room with two single beds just to get some fresh air and quiet. How ever these beds are for children and have polyester sheets. Gross. The house is a super weird layout and was just strange to be in. Also no one has ever lived there so there is no subtle touches to make it more comfortable. Such as lamps for evening time. All you get it the stark bright extremely not warm over head lights. I would probably not mention any of this cause the apartment is basically good enough except the price was very high and got that I would not choose this place again. Way too much for way too little. How ever this is Santa Barbara so the price is high. Also you don't really get a host. Its this digital message you get which a novel of instruction and rules. Just copied and pasted and sent my a machine. I always love when you get a real person hosting who makes the stay easy. This place is not horrible at all I just would not choose it again.
